Single speed transfer case swap?
I am looking at another soutII to buy. This one has full time 4 wheel drive and from what I understand it is just a one speed! Can a two speed case be installed without any great modification?
Re: Single speed transfer case swap?
I'm not sure what you mean by ful time four wheel, but there were Scouts that came through with Auto locking hobs (with free wheel the otehr setting) and there was another option of a single spd t-case (only behind the 727..??) which was activated via dash cable. I had a scout with both options. I kept the auto hubs and swaped in a 4sp+D300 tcase. If you have the right parts, it can definately be done. To make the swap more complicated, the 4sp+D300 were from behind a '80 deisel...but I did it after a few tries....
