New Scout II owner questions

I just purchased a '72 Scout II and I have a couple of unrelated questions.
First off, the tranny shift mechanism is disassembled (345 cid w/ new Edelbrock 4v to TF 747). The linkage to the tranny is intact but the connection to the carb is in pieces. I think I have all the pieces and an idea how it works but I need help on how to adjust the linkage since I know that it is important in setting the shift points and not just as a kick-down mechanism.
Secondly, my dash has the stock opening for a radio but I haven't figured out where the stock speakers would be located. The poor Scout has enough holes drilled in him so I want to mount a couple of speakers with the least impact. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: New Scout II owner questions

First off....congrats on buying a scout. I can't really tell you about the kick down linkage on the carb. But I can help you out on the radio. There was onlt one spot for the factory speaker. And that is directly below the radio....one speaker. I jhave seen most put speakers in the doors and right behind the front seats in the side walls. There really isn't room to put speakers under the dash as you can imagine. I'm not sure on what ek\lse i could tell you...Hope I gave you the info you were looking for though. Good luck
