1964 Question

I have a 1964 Scout that is in GREAT shape!! The only thing wrong is that it has the original 4 cyl. (oil breathing) engine. I don't know much about engines but I have a .350 chev avalible with trans. Does anyone know if the scout would be able to handle that and if I would also have to replace the drive-line?

Re: 1964 Question

I own a 1963 Scout 80 and have been making enquiries as well. As far as I understand the 350 will blow the drivetrain apart. I plan to run a 5.0 with a 4 speed myself, FJ40 front-axle and a toyota rear on top of 36's. I may have to change the rear axle but we're going to give it a shot. You would most likely want to run a drivetrain from a later Scout taking advantage of the Dana 44. Good luck with the build!!!
