SCOUT Cooling System question???

Hi. I am new to the scout community. I have a friend with the L6-198 Diesel engine in his scout (1976-79??? year). Well needless to say, he was gunning it hard and the engine overheated. I was wondering if there are any references online or diagrams of the L6-198 Cooling system and how it actually works in diesel engines. I am want to look further into it as we are planning to restore his scout as far as possible, starting with the engine now obviously! Any information on the L6-198 engine cooling system is appreciated.

Thanks again.

Re: SCOUT Cooling System question???

You need to check in at the Binder Bulletin Dieseltalk board. This is a bunch of guys that run the smoky Scouts, and they know tons about the Nissan diesels. Here is the link the forum homepage,just scroll down and click on the Dieseltalk link;
