Dana 44? \'75 3/4 ton IHC

My buddy ended up with a '75 IHC 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup. It as no engine. He is about to scrap it. The front end looks like a Dana 44. Does anybody actually know if that is what it is? It would be a shame to send it to the crusher with a good Dana 44. There are a couple other parts that are good too..... hood, door... anybody need? We are in Montana and don't want to ship.

What part of Montana are you in?
You might send a PM to tsm1mt.

Check out that profile from my previous message.
He's got a link to his website, and you can get his email address from there.
Maybe you can get a hold of him that way.
I know he owns lots of "farm equipment".
We're both in Helena, and members of Frontier 4 Wheelers Club.

I sent him a PM at the Montana 4X4 Assn website (goes by tsm1), but haven't heard back from him.
Which means, he may be out of town for a few days.
Keep trying.
Good luck.

Thanks,

I sent him a message. He does have a few pieces of field machinery! As far as this thing goes I just hate seeing good "farm equipment" go to waste. BTW: It does have the xfer case in it too.... for anybody looking.

Re: Dana 44? \'75 3/4 ton IHC

I have a 73' 3/4 ton pick-up, and assuming that the running gear is the same, the front axle is not a dana 44. It is an FA-somthin' or other. When I replaced the wheel bearings they put about 30 different axles underneath these trucks so it really just depends. It is a tough axle though.

The transfer case is a divorce mounted NP205 which is a militarily proven tough piece of gear driven cast iron. Horrible low range though.
