Big Block For My Scout

What would be better Mopar or Chevy I found adapter plates for both. What size and why ?
Thanks not real sure about what one and why.

MOPAR has the advantage that you can get a Mopar 727 and mix n' match parts to put the 426/440 in front of a 727 with the IH tailhousing n' such and not change driveshafts around.

BBC is just cheaper.

In either case, GO BIG. You'll want a 454 or 440 if you're trying to make up for the loss of a 345. A smallblock just won't make the same grunt as the stock IH does.

If you go Chevy, I'd grab a Chevy motor, trans, NP203, and doubler and swap the whole setup in.

Why would you put a 727 in and then go through all the trouble of swapping tailshafts when you can use the mopar tailshaft and then a jeep dana 300. I agree that you would need to go big to make up for the 345.
