79 scout clutch question

I am thinking about buying a 79 scout traveler off of my father in law. The clutch is slipping, and needs to be replaced. It has the 345 with a 4spd which I think is a t19. Napa said that there were three different diameter clutches. The smallest being a 10" and the largest being a 12"or 13". The 10" was only about $150.00. Then from there it went to $450 and the biggest was $800. How can I tell which one it has with out taking it out of the scout. If it has anything other then the 10" I am not going to buy it.

Re: 79 scout clutch question

well after doing alot of research, and calling around I finally found a descent price. I clutch shop here in KY will sell me the clutch and pressureplate for $75, the throughout bearing for $16, and the pilot bushing for $4. That is for an 11" clutch, but a 12" clutch wouldn't be much more. On other websites everyone says that most flywheels on the 345 are dilled for the 11", and the 12". Most of the places I called said that the fly wheel would be a 10 11 or 12 13. They said they almost guranteed that I would have the 10 11. I gues I won't know until I get it out.
