Stock 454 VS. HT 502

I have a 1986 K30 crew cab with a stock carbed 454. The truck is sitting on 35 inch tires with a dana 60 front 14 bolt FF SRW with 4:10 gears and detriot locker. Truck also has SM465 and NP205. Was planning too switch to the 502 in spring. Motor was bought for another projected and never finished. Truck also has headers and 3 inch pipes with a cross over and 2 chamber flow masters. Has any one ran this motor? How does it compare to the stock 454? I have heard there is fuel milage increases with the 502 over the 454. Any suggestions on carb to use have a holly 750 with vac. 2nds bolted to it right now.
Thanks for any help

for mudding I've used the dual 750s with mechanical secondaries and single plane intake....but i'm also running the ZZ motor with a 36inch crated body answer your question, the only 502 I've ran was the caddy motor, and i noticed a slight mileage difference, mostly due to the nail-heads.
