any one know?

i've got a 90 sub, the old tranny was good but three speed with granny is a lot better. I've been trying to find an adapter for the speedometer the gages are electric, but the tranny is old with the cable. i realy don't want to re-wire it. any help would be helpfull.

Are you swapping in an SM465 4-speed manual transmission? If that is the case you may be in luck. I don't remember if it was 1991 only, or 88-91, but look for the sending unit off of a R30. That is a 2WD (I assume your burb is 2WD as the sending unit is off the transmission) 1-ton crew cab long bed truck in your body style (81-87 + 88-91), one with the SM465 of course. i was told that the tranny is a saginaw 3 with granny? my rig is 4x4,the tires are 33's about to be 36's. v-1500. also about to put a 400 horse 350 in. axsle probably won't survive. know anone lookin to get rid of good ones? thankyou.

What did the tranny come out of? Wire brush the passenger side of it, should find 465 cast into it if it came out of a GM pickup from 73-87.

I know some people call it a Saginaw, beause it's model is SM-465, stands for Syncro-Mesh.

Here's how to ID it:

Sorry, I don't know anyone with axles. You're in Texas...Hmmm, gov't liquidation auctions that have M1008 CUCV. The front Dana 60 on those will bolt right in, the rear axle needs to have the spring perches moved, but that's no biggie.

that be the right one

thanks, that link let me know just about every thing. I kind of figuered on the pto option. the next step is i have three different t-cases. np 208 c,np241 c, and a 205 no tag any sugestions? mike

guages

i'm ripping out the dash, as soon as the wife ups my allowance. looking to go with white faced gages. polished alluminum sheet metal, black steel 1" square tubing.
