can 79 parts go on 77 ?
 
my buddy gave me a 79 chevy truck and I want to swap out some of the parts onto my 77 gmc will the year diferance be a problem

as TxFireman said, everything is pretty much unbolt then bolt on yours..unless you have different options, such as manual vs auto, 10-bolt vs 12 bolt, etc...everything else is the same

i'm in the process of rebuilding my 78 GMC K15 Sierra Classic using 86 C2500 parts, so pretty much anything from 77-87 will bolt in place of one another

the front clips started to change in 80, but I believe everything else will fit...if it doesn't..pull out the saw and welder...

Even the front clips of the 80's versions will work, but requie a little more effort. There are write ups on the net though, for anyone interested.
