Biggest tires, stock wheels & suspension

Just bought a 1986 4X4 Custom Deluxe 10 PU. How large of a tire can I put on stock wheels and suspension? It's just an old farm truck, no parking lots or hard 4wheeling. Thanks!

285 75 16 should fit, maybe with a minor fender trim. basically, 31s fit stock.

You should be able to fit 33"s if the springs aren't too worn out and don't wheel hard.

Re: Biggest tires, stock wheels & suspension

On my 78 GMC, I have a friend that has 36 inch military tires for sale..6 tires for $300. Sounds like a really good deal, i'm just wondering if these would fit. The fenders are basically rusted out, so trimming a lot wouldn't be a problem. How much lift would I need to fit these tires? I basically just use this truck for football games(long bed is great for a couch, and the loud pipes make everyone know i'm there), and I use this truck for muddy dirt roads to get into the fields on the farm.
