Pictures of My Truck

I took some pictures today and yesterday I thought you'd like of the Old Girl.

Shes a 76' K25 with a bed from an 80's truck, I primed it last fall but ran out of good weather to finish...

Tell me what you think...

-Joe

Re: Pictures of My Truck

the truck looks good. i always liked those body styles, but then again there are few chevy bodies i don't like.

great to see that a truck like that found its way to some one who will love it, and not into a bone yard.

I built a 427 with aluminum heads mated with a built 700R. The Rear end in its a ford 9 with a fully fabricated Tri four bar rear suspention with coil overs for the twistys... i've done a lot of work on x and f body cars. both 1st and 4/5th gen F bodies. they are great machines.

with that motor make sure you sure up that body. sub frame connectors are a must with that motor.

Re: Pictures of My Truck

I accually cutom bent a 2x4x.120 inch DOM steel full frame for it that runs all the way up to the stock subframe, dont worry about it twisting... i could tow a dump truck with that frame lol

Re: Pictures of My Truck

that is good. those bodies were not all that strong.

i've seen one additional thing done to make them stronger. you can run a bar from under the core support up to the firewall where your fender bolts to the rest of the body. i have a write up some where on how to make it in and old issue of CHP. if you want it, i could scan it. i think i have the mag still.

Re: Pictures of My Truck

Accully, most 12 point roll cages have thos in them, and it makes allot of sense seeing as sheetmetal is all that keeping the clip on.

Is the brace a bolt on peice, because id rather weld everything on, i hope to never have to take it all apart again... but thank you!

Re: Pictures of My Truck

this brace is a bolt in piece. each end would have a plate on it. one end sides under the core support body mount and the other bolts to the tire wall were the upper part of the fender goes. so, it is bolt in.
