flexplate help

I am trying to install a flexplate on my 454 that I bought from the parts place. Its a mark IV big block and a 1973 350 trans. This is going to sound dumb but which side faces the engine and which side faes the transmission?

where the torquconveter bolts on the flywheel the humped part out twords the trany
