Instrument cluster in Super Chevy

So I picked up the July Super Chevy magazine and found an article on how to replace the instrument cluster in our trucks. It showed a drop in replacement, complete with Autometer gauges and factory plugs. I thought that was pretty cool so I looked it up on the internet.
Covansclassic.com makes it.

Holy crap, they want $950.00!!!
and $250.00 for the bezel without gauges.

Anyways, its an interesting read and gave me a few ideas. You guys might want to check it out.

Re: Instrument cluster in Super Chevy

It is easy to retrofit autometers in your stock bezel. Just cut the little cones off the back of the bezel and mount 2 5/16" gauges like this:

You can see where he removed the cone trim piece where the gauges go.
