lt1 in 79 k20

So a few weeks ago the motor in the truck goes. oh great. It seems like every time i get up the money for my lift something gets in the way. i hate that. so luckily i have 1700 buck as of now saved. so i ripped the old motor out. turns out a timing chain bolt broke, then the others loosened and off came the timing chain. but before this happened the bolt that were loosening rubbed the timing cover releasing shavings into the motor and it cant be rebuilt. So off to my good buddy ebay. i start looking and i start to notice some cheap lt1's with low miles. hmmmmm....... why not? a modern fuel injected motor, more power, better milage/ dependibility. There are companys out there that modify the harness so its only a 4 wire hook up. A 12v constant, ignition, ground and another one i dont remember. the hardest part should be the o2 sensor, but i can weld so no biggy. i am still looking for the right motor and setup, but other than the complete motor i figure the easy way to do it is new fuel cell and electric fuel pump. let me know if you guys want a write up on it when i do it. i cant wait to get the truck back on the road. this things gonna be awsome!
