Converting to 200 Amp alternator

My 87 suburban has a 1 wire alternator that runs in the 80 +/- amp range. I'd like to convert to a three wire or figure out a way to get a 200 amp alt to work.

Any Suggestions?

Wrangler NW can set you up. They are good people too.

Re: Converting to 200 Amp alternator

I know this may be a bit late - however, I just put in a 2 wire OEM 130 amp alternator in my '78 Blazer. This was from the 84-86 range GM pickups. If your interested in the 130, I got it from Napa and can get you a part number. It was only $90 - vs. the $200+ through PowerMaster.

Just my 2 cents!

Good luck if your going to 3 wire!
