Sm 465 questions

So i decided to rebuild the tranny i got before i put it in the truck. I dont want to be messing with it later. Its better to do it right the first time. I need some kind of manual for the tranny. The shop manual for the truck does no good. It just has an exploded view but that only helps so much. Thanks alot guys!

Hmmm. Let me know what you find, I'd be interested as well. Also wondering if anyone makes upgraded input/output shafts for it. I'm thinking about some 32 spline billet or 4340 jobbers.

Re: Sm 465 questions

Ive been doing some resaerch, you can get 32 spline output shafts for the 465 and 32 spline input shafts for the np205, is there a coupker thats made to fit the 2 together? i have never heard anybody say anything like this before but i noticed that the shafts are compatible. is this type of swap possible?

Re: Sm 465 questions

I found this. It has just about everything i need. i just finished disassembling the case. it was pretty easy once i knew what was going on. http://www.kinzers.com/don/landcruis...ons/index.html
For anyone who sees this. This is one of the easiest things i have done. I would think that rebuild a trans (even though its a manual) would be so easy. Dont be scared off just cause it seems like an enourous task.
