glow plug installation problem

Hey guys, I have a 6.2L Burban im having a little trouble with. I was replacing the glow plugs and they came out with ease, but when I go to install my new 60Gs they only go in 1/3 of the way. I torqued them down to spec and it started and idled fine. What im worried about is that there is not enough threading to hold up to the high pressures in the engine and will blow out. Has anyone had a problem like this? The threads on the 9g and 60G look identical to me. Please let me know if this is normal or do I have a problem.

Thanks,
Mick
