700r4/np205/12 bolt

I have a 76 chevy truck with a sb400/700r4/np205/dana44 front/12 bolt rear. I am having a problem with the rear drive shaft not lining up side to side. looking at the truck from the back, you can see that the yoke on the np205 does not line up straight with the yoke on the 12 bolt rear. The truck has a 6 inch superlift, with springs in the rear, no blocks. Has anybody had this combo with this problem? Do I need to switch to an np208 case, or a 14 bolt rear to fix this alignment problem?

Probably time to inspect the transfer case mount and crossmember. Somebody probably did something stupid. Might be a good time to take a peek at the motor mounts.

You also might want to check out the rear springs and check to see if the bolt in the spring pack is intact. If it is broken you might be dog tracking. I don't think it is common but worth a look.
