Re: finaley got york mounted and air tanks

Looks good. Where are you going to mount the tanks? Manifold? Watch out for cheap hoses. The air that comes out of the compressor will be hot. If you don't have a filter it will also be full of oil, this will eat hoses.

Re: finaley got york mounted and air tanks

thanks, iv got a bed mounted tool box im going to mount the tanks in and one of thows self coiling hose spools, ill cut a small hole in the side of the tool box with a tight gromet so just the end of the air fiting sticks out

i think i have most of the rest of the parts i still need the intake filter, falange fitings for the york, check valve, unloader, random tubes and fitings well i guess thats a lot yetya ill run metel pipe off the discharge to the oil and water separater under the hood, probley mounted to a fender or fier wall then run hose the rest of the way back

should i use pipe for like in and out on filters and the tanks or would hose be ok?, what size hose and pipe should i use? 3/8in., 1/2in.?

thanks agen

Re: finaley got york mounted and air tanks

I needed flanges to connect the compressor to the rest of the system. Jason (Willyswanter) made some for me.

They have 3/8" fittings on them. 3/8 is fine but if your tanks and most everything else have 1/2 you will get more air. Right off of the suction port I have a 90 degree elblow that goes right to a filter. The filter is one you can get from an air tool store, I figured it fit the bill fine. Off of the discharge I have a 1/4 metal tube that goes into the filter. After the filter is is all hose, 3/8" with 1/4" fittings. My tanks and everything else had those so thats what I went with.
I will try to get some pictures of it.

Re: finaley got york mounted and air tanks

Here is a dark side shot of the compressor. The filter has a replacable paper filter. the oil filter I got from ebay for $4.00.

Re: finaley got york mounted and air tanks

This is the shot, dark again, of the manifold. There is a pressure switch, hose to go to front and back out puts, there is now a pressure gauge. Pressure switch was expensive but high quality. You can get cheaper ones at onboardair.com. I got mine at the air tool store.
