350 to 454
 
I have a 1985 GMC 2500 4X4 that has a bad 350. I also have a 1983 Chevy C20 2wd with an almost new 454. My question is will the 454 bolt into the 350 spot without too many problems. I would like to use the 454 if I can. Thanks for any help.

I did the same conversion a couple of years ago, and I wish I had a donor vehicle like you do. My truck is a 78 GMC, and the 454 fit like a glove, but I needed new motor mounts to make it work. You have almost everything you need on your 454-- brackets, accessories, etc to do the conversion. Maybe the exhaust will need to be modified, not sure, but its a small price to pay for the power increase you'll get. I had to run all over town finding new brackets and some accessories to make my conversion work, you have all that stuff in the '83 begging to be used.
