PS Line - Where to buy?

Hi, I'm neew to this forum, wrecked my YJ and picked up an 85 K5 as a project, I'm trying to get the little things fixed so she'll be roadworthy. The power steering return line is rusted through right by the nut, and the only place I can find the replacement one is LMC Truck, but that's $20 with shipping if I want to wait a week to get it. I know autozone and pep boys don't carry it, I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find it for cheaper/faster? I'm a cheap SOB and this rig has cost effective written all over it.

Thanks in advance

Re: PS Line - Where to buy?

Take the origional hose with you down to a hydraulic hose shop. They will cut the fitting off and braze it to a -6 JIC fitting then make you a return hose with a -6 JIC on one end to thread onto that fitting and the other end will go to the box. Place I go usually charges about $24 for this...

Are you sure they don't have it at Autozone? I got one there, but it was for my 89.

Re: PS Line - Where to buy?

I'm not positive on this but I am pretty sure they made changes to the power steering in the 88 and up models so that it wouldn't work...

Re: PS Line - Where to buy?

In the early 80s (81 or so) they started using an o-ring fitting and did away with the flare fittings.

Autozone carries the rubber hose, but not the metal fittings for the return line. My suggestion would be to try to find one in the junyard or go to a hydraulic shop.
