long bed to short bed conversion

i am wanting to take my long bed off and cut my frame so i can fit a short box stepside on is their any refrences or any info on this type of job. or anyone know if it is possible

I've seen it done before. Your best bet would be to find another shortbed, and take a lot of measurements. You're going to have to move the rear suspension forward, which means a shorter driveshaft will be needed. You may also have to move the fuel tank(s).

Search this forum for Desert Rat posts, he cut down a frame on a crewcab, may be helpful
