Blazer

Hi!
I've got a -89 Blazer Silverado with a 350&manual tranny.
#1GNEV 18K7K F13.. with some 80.000 miles on it.
Lately it has developed a nasty habit of not starting.
It just runs for a couple of seconds and dies.
Further attempts to start it are futile, it does not run
at all when when cranked again.
When helper turns the ignition step-by-step I can hear the fuel pump run in the tank for a while (like it should?).
After the starter kicks in I do not know.
When I let it sit in the yard for a week or two it starts and runs ok. Even exteded periods and WOT.
My mechanic and I are desperate. Every time I take it to the shop it runs just ok.
Computer tells that everything is ok, (so far).
Please give some hints what to look for.
Our best bet is that the problem is sensor-related.

Thanks folks!
