oval or rectangular ports

i got a 73 chevy with a stock 454, and was wondering if anybody knows if it has oval or rectangular ports. would be nice to know, so i don't have to yank the intake manifold off, then put it back on, just to place an order one weekend, then do it all over again, when the new one arrives.

thanks

Re: oval or rectangular ports

It is an oval port, only high po cars came with rect ports. If you really wanna be sure, yank a valve cover and get a casting number, if it is a 781 or 049 casting, you should get a performer RPM intake cause the ports are quite big on those heads.
