79 Jimmy engine question

heya, i have a 79 jimmy, with the 6.6L engine, which i put a hole in yesterday. i have a rocket 350 engine laying around with like no miles on it, and was just wondering if anyone knows if i would be able to put this in with little to no hassle? please let me know, thanks!

Is that an Oldsmobile 350? If so, it won't bolt up. Buick, Olds and Pontiac (BOP for short) used a different bellhousing.

damn didnt think so. but thought mebbe since chevy trucks had olds diesels in them~

Its kind of wierd, but since I read your post yesterday, I heard three separate references to the Rocket 350. Two on TV, and one from a friend.
