You sure it's for the FF and not the SF?

Re: 14 bolt min. spool

The carriers are not the same. What is a mimi spool. Well I guess, what is the difference? Iwas under the inmpression that at least here in California spools are not street legal. They are also not very streetable.

Re: 14 bolt min. spool

Mini spool goes inside the stock carrier in place of the spider gears like a detroit. A spool replaces the entire carrier.

Spools are not illegal in california, but your right, they suck on the street. But my detroit never unlocks so it's the same thing and it's kinda cool to chirp chirp chirp around corners

Re: 14 bolt min. spool

By design isn't it supposed to unlock, kind of? I thought that if you are not accelerating or have your foot on the gas, the locker will unlock if it experiences differences in the wheel path differences.

Re: 14 bolt min. spool

it doesnt necessarily unlock because it hasa couple of spring s in th iside that pretentionthe ratchet mechanism. under no load if you coast around a corner at high speeds then yes it usually unlocks the outer axle shaft and that over-runs the ratchet, but mine very rarely did this, of course i usually accelerate through turns

Re: 14 bolt min. spool

if you have a FF you might as well just weld it up. You can weld just the gears and basically have a mini-spool then when you save up for the detroit you can just pull the old welded spiders out and put it in. I ran a welded rear for a year till I got my detroit and it worked just fine *chirp chirp*
