1977 blazer

i have a 1977 chevy k5 blazer and the body is shot almost non existant, so i am looking to see what year model short bed truck body will fit on the frame, preferably what is the newest body style i can put on the frame with little or no modifications as possible. and i would also like to know if these blazers have any known weaknesses. i got this rig for free so i can only gain more from this.

Re: 1977 blazer

I've seen 88-98 beds on pre 87 GM trucks. I can be done. Problem is the K5 frame is shorter than a shortbed single cab frame, so you'd have to do something with the bed. IE: shorten it.

Re: 1977 blazer

What are you planning ot do with this truck? If its gonna be a trail only rig, why not just put a truck cab on it, and build a flat bed of some sort? Or build a custom cab/roll cage.......

Just some ideas to ponder......

Re: 1977 blazer

i really like the look of the open back of the cab on a blazer, and like the option of a back seat. this will be my beach, horse trailer pulling rig, so it wont be to off road. and i love the way a blazer looks with a bed cover over the back
