Help me decifer my lift!!

Hello all! First time poster long time reader!!

I recently picked up a 85 full size 4X4 with a lift already on it. I am not familiar with lifts and or how they are done so to speak. Learning as i go. I took some quick measurements...and even some pics if that would help.....here is what i got so far.

Front- Center of wheel to fender lip 27 1/4"
Rear - Center of wheel to fender lip 27 1/2"

Front i counted 5 leafs and measured a 2" block
Rear i counted 6 leafs and measured a 6" block.
Rear also has a shackle on the end of the rear leafs. Measure 7" center of mount bolt to leaf attaching point.

Currently i have 33's on the truck. I am wanting at least 35's but i got a lead on some 39.5's right now i want to use. So, i am trying to figure out what i will need to do to get the tires on.

Anybody able to help me figure all this out?

A block on the front?!? That's no good. See if you can find any part numbers or manufacturer names painted or stamped into the springs.
Sounds like something somebody threw together with what they had.

Yes, there is a 2" block in the front.

I have some pics if that would help figure this all out.

GET RID OF THOSE FRONT BLOCKS.

They aren't safe. There have been many discussion on how unsafe this setup is. I'd remove both front/rear blocks and get a shackle flip from offroaddesign.com

You'd be 2" shorter than you are now, but about 200% safer

But congrats on the purchase!

Re: Help me decifer my lift!!

The more i am thinking about it, i think lowering the truck back down 2 " would make it look alot better to be honest. With the 33" tires......the lift is a little much to me for looks.

With what is beign said right now, how about if i remove the front 2" like what was said, and on the rear for now, put in a 4" block instead? Until i can get money for the flip kit in the rear.

Now, here is a stupid question i am sure......but how did they get the 4" of lift in the front then...not including the 2" block there? Is it the leafs?

Yes, it would be in the leafs. And a 4 in block in teh back won't be too bad until you can afford a shackle flip. Just get some good blocks, and get some new GOOD u bolts, and you'll be good to go.
