on board air

i know this is probley relley dumb and i think i know the anser but why dont pepole use the smog air pump for on bord air?

my guess is it dosent have enufe presher or volume but i dont know for shure so i thought id ask the pros

i relley want to do an a/c convershon but i cant find a pump for the life of me, id allso like to find one with 454 brakets, (im no good at fabricating) but that seems like it would be even harder to find

i was just wondering about smog pumps becuse i see them arownd a lot

I've seen systems using the smog pumps. The good is they put out a pretty high volume but there pretty low pressure, I think they only get up to 90psi or so... But thats still plenty for tires and such.

cool mabey thats the way ill go till i can find an a/c pump,
tiers is all i relley need it for but i would like to have one i can run tools off some time

i wonder if i ran it to a air tank it that would be enufe to power an impact

do the smog punps keep oil in them?, becuse i thought thay just suck air in and blow it back out if i need to put an oiler on thats no big deal

crap i forgot ther on all the time no clutch, ill need to think about how that would work

Use one of these. You can buy new off of www.onboardair.com or used from ebay. I got mine from a Volvo junkyard for $45.
