10 bolt to 44

ed my front 10 bolt with 8 lug to a 44 with 8 lug, in a 84, the drive shaft dosent seem to bolt up the same, do thay use difrent straps or thows litel u bolts?

its in for now bit i dont feall safe using it like this, the straps from the 10 bolt seem to shallow and short for the 44 or am i going to need to change drive shafts?

and i dont know what year the 44 is out of, eney ideas?

Is the yoke the same size? 1310?

If the yoke is threaded then it uses straps and bolts, if it's not threaded it uses u-bolts.

Why did you go from 10 bolt to dana 44?

i think it must take the u bolt tipe, i got some at work and ill try them tonight, thanks

i had a dead truck with a 14 bolt ff rear and put it in but the gear rasheo was difrent than my front so i decided to just swap fronts, i thought the fronts wer the same when i did the rear and i was just going to swap the front gears but when i whent to do it i relised thay wer difrent, this axel seems fine and i just dont have the money to change the gears in the other [img]images/graemlins/scs.gif[/img]

got it fineshed but i had been busey, i put the tie rod on from the 10 bolt cus the one it had was bent and the stering must be slightley difrent cus i had to re aline it, 2 1/2in. tow out that sucked it felt like i was allways driving on the ice, glad i got it fixed before the roads did get icey
