ERRRRRRR!!! Check engine light!!!

My recently purchaced 90 Jimmy is driving me nuts. The check engine light is coming on, error 32, fault in the EGR circuit. It generally comes on after about 10 to 15 minutes of highway driving (60 to 70 mph). I have replaced the EGR valve (nope), the EGR solenoid (nope), and the vacuum lines between EGR/solenoid and solenoid/throttle body (still no). The engine runs pretty good, but is pinging a bit on acceleration. I think maybe it is the timing, which I am going to check, but I am not sure that would cause this error code. I admit that I am not to up to date on ECM controlled trucks (this is my first one) so I am trying to fill myself out an education on them. Anyhow, if anyone has any clue what it may be, PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks.

I had the same drama on my 89 Sub. Did you replace the gasket on the EGR valve too? Mine was burnt up, and let exhaust pass between the two ports when it shouldn't have.
Mine never knocked or pinged, but I couldn't keep it running in parking lots or at low speed.

Oh yah. If you did all that work and didn't reset the computer, it will continue to show all the stored codes. Disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds to reset the computer.
