axle weights

How much heavier is a d-60 than a 10 bolt front,and how about a 14ff versus 12 bolt?

Re: axle weights

im not shure about the whate of a d60 but i put a 14 bolt ff in my truck, i was replacing a 14 bolt sf so i cant relley say how mutch heceyer than a 12 bolt it is but it was no problem to roll arownd all over the place with 2 pepole, but if you need to lift one to moce it its gona take a jack or charey picker, but if your wondering the whate difrence for just how mutch more youll be ading id say it whays mabey 300 lbs. but its well worth it

Re: axle weights

These are all guesses except for the 14FF. I can carry a rear 10 bolt but a front 10 bolt all I can do is drag it. Three people can move a 14FF and it takes no less than four to move a Dana 60.

A fully-loaded kingpin front Dana 60 is like 600lbs. It's at least 500lbs.

A fully-loaded front 10 bolt is like 350lbs.

A drum-braked rear 10 bolt is around 225lbs. A disc-braked one is about 15lbs lighter.

A drum-braked 14FF is 400lbs. You can get it down to around 330 with some shaving and discs.
