14bolt rear - from a blazer

Just thought I would pass this on. There is a posting for a 14 bolt rear end out of a full size Blazer in my local Jeep Club. The Club is Jeeps of North Texas and the web site is www.jeepn.org
The forum link is
http://www.jeepn.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18374
I don't know this guy or the shape of the rear end as far as carriers and stuff, but he is in Abilene, TX and only wanted 125 bucks for it. I was even thing about buying for a future spare for my Burb (but the 14 bolt has 8 lug pattern right?) and my current projects have me straped for cash.

Re: 14bolt rear - from a blazer

If it's the full floating 10.5" 14 bolt then it will definitely have 8 lug outers.

$125 is a decent price for a 14bolt pretty much anywhere I believe.

Re: 14bolt rear - from a blazer

They never put the 14 bolt in a first or second generation Blazer. If it has hubs sticking out it is a full floating 14 bolt. If not, it is a semi-floating 14 bolt. The 14SF can have both six and eight lugs. It can also have five, but it only came in the 454SS.

If it is an 8 lug 14SF then it isn't worth much in my opinion. It is heavy, still has c-clips, and is still 8 lug. The 14FF is better than an 8 lug 14SF. If it is a 6 lug 14SF then I'd get it.

You can also get a 6 lug 14SF out of a 96up Savanna/Express van.
