Engine Miss I Think?

Ok I think that its a miss. When you open the throttle all the way it starts to skip and pop especially when climbing a hill. So this tells me that it getting fuel and it is most likly ignition. The thing that is wierd is that if it starts to do it and you back out of the throttle some it clears up some. But it still skips or cut in and out. The timing if memorey survers me right is some where aroud 9*. So maybe I should play with the timing a bit more. Though its been set there basicly since it was rebuilt and it just started to act up. So any other suggestions would be apprciated so I can get it running right and wheeling.

Re: Engine Miss I Think?

Could be either fuel or ignition.
Check fuel filter, if it's running out of fuel under hard
load, lean, it will do as described.

Check ignition - the missing/popping could be crossfiring
between cylinders, a partially broken plug wire, even a
flashing over coil.

Check everything closely, including the underside of the
rotor and the ends/corners of the coil.
Look for whitish/grayish marks. Those marks indicate
insulation breakdown, solidified smoke.
Replace anything with those marks, including plug wires.
