How do u think this would look?

This past summer and fall i painted my truck. well this christmas i am getting the stuff to redo my interior: repaint, dash mat, new seat, and new floor carpetted mat. I was sitting in art this week and i thaught thatthis might look kind of cool....do u think if i went to Lowe's and bought a few sheets of diamond plated alminum and cut it to look like floor mats, then seal them and screw them too the floor. there would be one mat at your feet, one mat behind the petals, a little peice in front and behind the 4wd column and then a mat at your feet on the passenger side. its just an idea that i thaught i might drop by u all too see if u guys that it would look alright or just stick too the floor mat.

Eh, mon, sounds like a great way to promote rust.

My floor rusted from the inside out.

Re: How do u think this would look?

Was thinking about that myself with leftover steel from my flatbed, but you have to make sure you seal everything and paint it well pbefore you bolt it down or you will have a nastyness sandwich.

I painted my floor flat black and I love it, doesnt scratch like I thought it would and I've gotten used to the noise.

I'm with wrath and RJ. Gonna rust like a mo-fo unless you COMPLETELY seal it up. Those 73-87(91) Chevy/GMC truck rust in the floors BAD, and this seems like a very good way to make it even worse.

Re: How do u think this would look?

Look into buying diamond sheet stock made from plastic. I bought some and made wall panels for the inside of my Jimmy. I don't know how it would stand up against dirty muddy feet, but it looks amazing as interior panels with speakers installed, a fire ext. and a first aid kit.

Re: How do u think this would look?

I was thinking of ripping up my carpet and spraying the entire floor with Rhino liner. Any thoughts?

Re: How do u think this would look?

The spray in bedliner makes a great floor covering. I've seen it in all kinds of vehicles, and even all over a few vehicles. Might want to get a price on the Rhino Liner, then just do it with the Herculiner. I like my Rhino Liner in my Ram's bed, but some of the estimate's I've heard guys talk about for doing the insides of their trucks were pretty bad. NO THANKS!

Re: How do u think this would look?

I have herculiner on my front bumper and its flasking. So I cant imagine how bad it would hold up on a floor my feet are rubbing on. I dont like it at all. And do not recommend anyone do it. But thats just my opinion.
