High idle tough to kick off?

Hi! I got another problem for you all to solve!! My truck seems to stick on high idle for some reason. Even after the temp guage is say 1/4 way up it can be hard to kick off high idle. Have to try it a few times for it to kick off. And then once it kicks off, you just touch the gas a bit and high idle comes back on. Like if you kick it off, put it in gear, put on some gas to take off and it comes back on. Anyone ever experienced this or know how to fix it??? The carb is a 4 barrel quadrajet(sp?).
THANKS!

Re: High idle tough to kick off?

Assuming you have an automatic choke -
When cold, engine off, open and close the throttle a couple
of times, watch the choke blade, note the angle.
Loosen the 3 screws holding the choke on, rotate the cover a
little so the blade opens up a little more, tighten the screws.

Enjoy.
