Tranny Swap???

my friend andrew needs a project for Auto Mechanics and hes gonna swap the Tranny in my Chevy C10 for me(its a blown 700R4) im pretty sure the 700R4 and Turbo 350 trannys have the same bolt pattern. but what problems will be associated with the swap? i know hte 350 doenst and O/D but i frankly dont care, i detest 700R4s. im get the tranny from my Ag/Shop teacher its out of his racecar, wants $100 for it, and im sure he went threw it all, when he put the car togther, so i figure $100 tranny, no labor costs...soundsl ike a plan to me, and i dont have to spin any wrenchs cept the ones to put my batteries back in

Re: Tranny Swap???

the th350 will be shorter than the 700 probably and therfore may require new drivelines. I have never owned a 350 but I have read the measurements. In my experience the 700R4 and th400 are the same length (abour 3/4" different) but is a direct bolt in basically if you have a t-case for each otherwise spline counts are different into the case (regarding 4x4 aplications anyways)

Re: Tranny Swap???

The 700R4 to TH350 is a direct swap. The TH350 is a tad shorter, but nothing that the slip joints in the driveshaft cant take care of.
