Off the road again....

Got my 4.56 gears and "sureweld" locker installed in the rear this weekend and now can use that 60 front for what it is there for. Been out 4Xing the truck practically non-stop since Saturday night. Already burned one tank of gas anyways. Having 4 wheel drive is awesome again and hiaving it strong enough I can really get on it and not break is tons much more better. And the welded up rear end, whoa budy! Awesome!!!!! Will try to get some pics later since I left my camera in my car this weekend, doh!

Re: Off the road again....

Glad to hear the welded rear is working out. I hope to have mine in the shop this weekend or next. You followed the instructions on CK5, right?? What do I need to look out for?? How long did it take you??
Wish I had a D60 in front. Guess I'll have to go easy on my 44.
And what's up with the 1-Ton K10?? I thought 1-Tons where 30's?!?

Re: Off the road again....

the rear is pretty good. I welded the vallys of teh spiders like the CK5 article and took about 20 min to crack teh carrier open and weld up. Tookd 2.5 hours to install teh gears but we lucked out by using the stock shim spacing that I got when I pulled the gears from teh truck I got it from. The 1-ton K10 is cause the truck was a shortbox K10 but has 1-ton running gear.

Re: Off the road again....

It chirps and creeps and slides alot around corners. Right now with all the ice and sand on the streets it isn't too bad.
