speedometer problems

After 4 months of working on my truck i finally sent off for my proof of insurance and recieved it friday. after taking it out i have noticed an annoying sound coming from my speedometer. a friend of mine has some type of tool that will grease my cable so it hopefully wont make that noise anymore but i have another problem. the trcuk has 3/4 ton axles with 3.73 and i have 35 inch tires, so my speedometer is saying i am goin faster than i really am. another friend told me that i could get a gear from our local dealer that will fit in the transmission so it will correct it. he said to compensate for the tires i should tell the dealer i need one of those gears for 4.10s. is that the right way to do it or is there some calculator i can use to et it right?

Re: speedometer problems

i was gonna wait this one out, since i don't know the specific answer and i know people on here do, if you want gears for it do a search, which i just remembered, it was discussed planty of times, youll be able to find companies etc that sell those.

Re: speedometer problems

What year/model vehicle? I just installed a Superlift VSSB chip in my truck to compensate for the new gears/tires. Depends on what year vehicle for what application it requires.
