Which Axels???

i have a decision i need to make. right now i have 3/4 ton rear ends with 3.73's. i am getting ready to buy new wheels and tires so i was goin to stay with the 8 lug but a guy that my brother knows says he will trade me staright up for my axels for his 1/2 ton 4.11's and his chrome wheels. i would still have to buy tires.what are the good and bad things about trading or not trading. do u tihnk i should stay with what i got? PLEASE HELP!!

Unless they are the same axles I think yer nuts [img]images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
but that's just me. More than likely I would guess you have heavier axles, so they will handle more weight and power. Just swap out the gears, if you want lower gear ratio's.
IMO anyway. good luck with whatever you opt for.

umm, yeah they have all stated it accurate;y. you either have the 8lug 14SF or the 14FF. both of the 14s are significantly stronger than the 1/2 ton 10bolt. the FF being far and away superior due to the design characteristics. DON'T TRADE HIM. you'll regrett it if you do...you'll end up spitting teeth a lot sooner that your would with the 3/4T gear

A gear change on your 3/4 ton axles is a lot cheaper than fixing 10 bolts over and over and over again.......or swapping 3/4 ton stuff BACK in after you kill his half ton stuff.
