NP208 vent?

Is there a vent for my NP208? I figured it would have been discussed before but I couldn't find anything doing a search so now I'm wondering if it even has one. I swear in my perusings of my manual it said I had one. I can't find one. I want to move it to my core support.

Anyway, it's time to drain my transfer case and differentials.

Re: NP208 vent?

yeah, when i had mine out, it came out and then just on top of the transfer case, if you put your hand up on top of the 208 you can feel a little cup like thing, that wiggles, that is the vent

Re: NP208 vent?

OK, is it something that I can move to another location? I assume I can use a piece of 3/8" fuel line and run it up to my core support or firewall? Does it just have a little protrusion kind of like a differential to hook a hose on?

thanks

Re: NP208 vent?

Yeah, you should be able to just pop that cap off the vent and run some hose up between the cab and the bed. I think that's closer than inside the engine bay. Good place to run the rear diff vent as well.

Find some of the GM vent caps, best stuff available.

Re: NP208 vent?

I don't really want them between the cab and box because it's a bit of a nuissance there. Plus, that's one of the spots I use to wash the mud from the top of my tanks with.

I plan on running the rear differential vent up on top of the left wheelwell like I always do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes those GM mushroom things. I always steal them off stuff when I'm at the junkyard. I don't think I have any left because people are always asking me for them.
