sm 465 output??? wont stay in 3rd???

does any one know if the sm 465 came with a 27 or 32 spline output
any way to make them stay in 3rd gear mine pops out all the under throttel or not

Someone sells a kit that replaces the snaprings on the countershaft or something like that. I don't believe there is an easy fix for the problem, you'll either be buying a new tranny or tearing the one you have right apart and either replacing whatever is worn, or installing the kit.

Don't know about the spline question; but I think 84 and later SM465's were a fine spline of some variety.

<font color="green"> ORD sells the 32 spline main shaft for the 465. They did conme from the factory with them in the later years, but I think it started later than 84. </font color>

M465 is stronger than a 400
