TH350 Trans Wires?

Working on my daughters 82 Jimmy with a 350/350 combo. On the trans there are two wire connectors, one on the drivers side and one on the pass side. I figure one's for backup/neutral. What's the other one for?

Re: TH350 Trans Wires?

Are you sure it is a 350?
A Th350 just has a detent cable and a vacume line going to it.
The back up /safty nuetral switch is on the steering column.
A TH 400 has an electric kick down on the drivers side.
Not sure about a 700R4.

Re: TH350 Trans Wires?

I've never dinked with a TH350 but the 700R4 has a wire set going in on the drivers side. It would be a group of 3 wires and plug has 4 little connections (one is a dummy). Maybe that may help.

Re: TH350 Trans Wires?

Seems like the '82 would have a 700R4, but if it is a TH350, it would likely be a TH350C with a lockup torque converter, and that would be what the other connector is for.
