I think the 205 in your picture is a Dodge case. I've got both early and late model versions of the 32 spline female input 205's and none have that retainer on the input shaft like the one pictured.

IIRC the only things you'll find one of those cases, is a 91 Crew Cab 4x4 with a 4l80E trans, Or possably a classic body style cab and chassis 4x4 of the same year, also with the 4l80E trans. Are you a member of CK5? if so PM thatk30guy and ask him, he'd know! You could also run a search over there, He's posted the info a few times now . Happy hunting .

Yeah, it's like the most valuable and hard to find case in the world and what do I need for the willys? Yep, one of them. If you find a buy 2 for the price of 1 deal on them, I'll pay for the free one...

No wonder i wasn't able to find one when mine had shift fork problems. Hope mine never has any problems again. I had so many people tell me that the 205 was an easy to find case available anywhere. Not mine.

Re: ok i need a np205 but which year

The 205 in your picture doesn't have the adapter attached. It is a late model transfer case because it uses the round bolt pattern instead of the figure 8 like the early ones. This pattern changed in the mid 80s. With the adapter the transfer case will have the six bolt pattern on both ends and a mount.
I found my TH400/205 in a u-pick junk yard in the bed of a 2wd pick-up truck. It had a slip yoke that was cracked so I talked them down from $250 to $200. I bought another earlier 205 and swaped the slip yoke for a fixed yoke.
