clutch time

found out today that the grinding sound when ever i start out is my throw out bearing, time to do da clutch, my truck has the muncie SM-465 tranny, with the np208 transfercase, im gunna try to do it this weekend, im gunna drive it nicely for the rest of the week and try to do it this weekend, ive never done this before, any tips from anyone would be GREATLY appreciated.

im thinking of installing a luk stock style clutch since the truck has 149,000 on it and i have 33's and 3.73's and 10 bolts.

I used a Ram Clutch in my Jimmy. I bought it from PAW. So far I like it. I was around $145.00 for everything including shipping. Hey I wanted to ask ya, is there a return spring inside the cab at the top of the pedal? It looks like there is supposed to be one, so I hooked one up to it from the bottom of the dash.

my shop teacher told me the throw out bearing rattleing is quite normail on chevys, also that there is a sert somewhere on the tranny to grease is, my S-10 has rattled for like 3 months now
and its still running strong

Ya there's supposed to be a big honkin spring there.

87 when you drop the tranny, use ratchet straps along with the engine hoist to get the angles right for re-installation as getting the input shaft to engage the clutch splines and into the pilot bushing can be a pain in the ass.
