vaccum lines

I have a 5.7litre (350CID if you prefer, now my computer doesn't connect to anything anymore, changed the tranny and engine so that I didn't need it. I am just curious what vaccum lines are necessary. A shop guy convinced me I only need to connect the brakes the vaccum advance carb. and the thingy that goes on the valve covers that I can't come up with the name of right now
thanks

Re: vaccum lines

What kind of tranny do you have? If it has a 400 in it, there is a vaccuum modulater that connects to the intake.

Re: vaccum lines

you also need the vacuum advance from the dist to the carb also. The one fromt eh valve covers is the PCV valve.

Re: vaccum lines

yea i have all that hooked up, including my tranny. I have a TCI modified 700R4 tranny, which makes it so that it operates off of an electric line and vaccum line.

Re: vaccum lines

I am from New Paltz NY actually. exit 18 on I-87 (damn straight little town with our own exit) . My truck is a 85 chevy I got about 3 or 4 years ago with a 305 and all the other junkie junk junk. currently it has a 350 with heavy lifters, a real subtle cam (r/v i think), edelbrock intake, 600cfm edelbrock carb, and that is it for any significan engine things. That is running into a TCI modified 700R4 tranny (shifts damn hard too when you are on it), into a NP208 transfer case. This goes to horrible corporate 10 bolts with 3.08 gears. My bro has a 77 chevy just rotting in our field, but it has 12 bolt FF's in it that I intend on stealing, possibly along with the transfer case depending on whether it will work with what I have, and is preferable. Nothing much is done to the interior, want to put in some buckets. The only other thing I have is stereo, Nakamichi headunit, going to a SONY ES 80x2, and Orion 50x4, amps (rms ratings). These power 8" Polk Db subs, Polk Dx 6x9's and Polk 5.25's. Nothing real fancy other than the speed holes....or rust holes whatever you prefer
