Re: Pics that goto the old \"Pride of Ownership\" thread
Ahhh, they like the wheels do they... Those are now a rarity, 16x8 Progressive's, that's what they are, I don't know what model, but they are made by Progressive, which has since stopped manufactuing wheels, we've got two sets, those which are really well kept, and at least 8 years old, and a set that didn't get cleaned often enough in winter. The magnesium chloride that they spray down to prevent the ice on the roads, ate through the laquer and pitted the wheels, short of machining the front surface off of them and polishing them, they're pretty hard on the eyes right now. But the one's on my truck have been kept tip-top.
As for my tach being down there, I despise that location, but that's where my dad installed it years ago, it was his truck after all. You can thank him for the wheels too, he saw 'em at Les Schwab and decided that they were the best looking wheel he's seen our body style of pickups. I've seen 'em on newer chevy's from the factory, we had a '98 3/4 Ton that came with them, they didn't used to have their own forged aluminum wheel, so they put aftermarket ones, on the bigger trucks, for the people that didn't want steelies, on a leather-wrapped, fully-loaded, 454 BBC powered truck.
