General tire, tires?

i was lookin at tires, and i noticed that my friends old truck had these, the manufacutre was general tire, and they were all purpose grabbers, not bad 33x12.50's for 109$, my truck wont see all the extrime terrain, maybe some muddy fields, nothing like major mudhole gumbo style, and it sees mostly street driving, just looking for opinoins, im open for them, thanks guys .

Re: General tire, tires?

I've got 31x10.50 Grabber APs. I like them a lot but I don't think tread life is all that great. I bought them used with about 3/4 of the tread left, ran them for 20,000 miles on my Sonoma and now two of them are nearly bald at 12,000 miles on my K10.

The tread went by twice as fast on my fullsize.

There is no tire noise. I can't hear them over the wind. They clean well and I've only got one hole in them. My truck has spent many trips to the local city dump where you have to dodge shrapnel and nails to drive around.

Since I have yet to find a reasonably priced tire for my truck I'll probably either buy some more used ones or I'll buy Grabber APs. I haven't found anything any better for the price.

Re: General tire, tires?

my friend has 35x12.5 general grabbers on his '95 F-250, he loves them says they wear a little to much on the road but we have only gotten his truck stuck when the water/mud was coming into the truck and bed. he gets good traction with them, no real road noise or at least i can't hear it over the exhaust, or my tahoe's BFG a/t's so they r a nice tire but i would say if ur doing a lot of road driving to watch how u drive

Re: General tire, tires?

Look for Centennial Mud Campaigner's. They're cheaper than General's, and have a much better tread life. They're just not very well known.
