454 intakes

I run an 89 454 with tbi and have been looking for flow improvements on the torque side, down low and mid range. Anyone ever try out the Edelbrock tbi intake manifold? Cost is high to upgrade to direct port injection so I am trying to find improvements to the stock tbi system.

Re: 454 intakes

I dunno about the 454 one, but the 350 TBI intake I've heard good comments about. Not like you just bolted on a supercharger or anything, but good for a definate seat of the pants improvement. I'd suspect the 454 TBI intake works similar. Of course, the whole package probably works much better when done together.

Re: 454 intakes

Edelbrock advertises the 'package' for this one with only the intake, headers and cam kit. The heads stay stock due to the lack of flow on the high end with the tbi would be my guess. I am towing and using mostly just 1200 to 4500 rpm's anyhow. Granny low standard keeps em up from a start and most of the torque I need is cruising at highway speed with some big hills with a heavy trailer. I think this intake (454) would be a good choice, just wanted to see if anyone here has used it or seen it used.
